Amantys’ Chris White named Rising Star New Engineer of the Year at the Elektra Awards

Cambridge graduate quick to make mark with first product being “highly commended” by the judges in the Power Products category

- 13 Dec 2012

Cambridge, England, December 13th 2012 – Amantys’ young engineer Chris White has been presented with the Rising Star New Engineer of the Year Award at the Elektra European Electronics Industry Awards 2012.

The accolade, presented at the UK electronic industry’s premier awards event at London’s Park Plaza hotel, acknowledges Chris’s early contribution to the business and industry, who has quickly demonstrated both strong technical knowledge and practical application of his skills in challenging projects at Amantys.

Chris, who joined the Amantys team after graduating in 2010 with an MA in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Pembroke College at the University of Cambridge, has quickly established himself as a key member of the team and has grown into one of Amantys’ lead engineers in the development of our IGBT Driver product family.

In addition to his passion for engineering and outstanding commitment to his work, Chris also participates in a range of enriching activities in his own time (including a role as a scout leader organising expeditions for young people), making him an excellent role model for aspiring engineers and electronics professionals.

“We are firm believers in the importance of finding and nurturing young talent as we continue to develop as a business, and it’s been a real pleasure working with Chris and watching him flourish with the company over the last year,” said Bryn Parry, Amantys CEO. “It is no coincidence that the Amantys Power DriveTM was also highly commended by the judges, reinforcing the value of the contribution Chris has made. We look forward to seeing what else he can achieve and bring to the industry.”

Selected by a panel of technical and respected judges chosen from a wide range of electronic and engineering design disciplines, the award seals a highly successful year for the business and follows Amantys’ Start up of the Year Award at the British Engineering Excellence Awards in October. 2012 also witnessed the company’s second successive selection to the Global Cleantech 100, and appearance in the EE Times “Silicon 60 start-ups to watch”.
